Over the past weekend, our Quicksilver athletes competed very well at their final meet of the Georgia High School track season – The Georgia Olympics (GA T&F State Meet). The meet was held from May 8th to May 10th at Jefferson High School, in Jefferson, Georgia. Lots of great performances were on hand, and a good number were from Quicksilver athletes.

Leading the way was 5 time State Champion – Jeremy McDuffie of Shiloh High School. While leading Shiloh High to their first team T&F State Title, racking up a total of 34.5 out of a possible 35 points. McDuffie captured the 6A state title in the 110 meter hurdle, 300 meter hurdle, 4×100 meter relay, and was state runner up in the 4×400 meter relay. His time of 13.82 in the 110 meter hurdle was good enough to earn him the award for ‘Best Performance at the State Meet.‘ His time of 37.57 in the 300 meter hurdle was the 2nd fastest time at the state meet. 

2 time State Champion – Terrence Jenkins, of New Manchester High School is the 2014 5A State Champion in the 100 meter hurdle, and 300 meter hurdle. His time of 37.67 in the 300 meter hurdle was the 3rd fastest time recorded in the GA State meet. Quicksilver teammate, 2012 USATF T&F All American, Denzel Harper of Stephenson High School finished second to Jenkins in the 300 meter hurdles – recording a time of 38.60. Harper, along with his 2nd place finish in the 300 meter hurdles, captured the state title in the Long Jump – soaring to mark of 23 feet even, also  placed 6th in the 110 meter hurdle, 4×100 meter relay, and 4×400 meter relay. Harper was also awarded ‘5A classification Highest Point Scorer.’ Scoring all the points for Lithia Springs was Lesheon Strozier. Strozier, in capturing the state title in the Triple Jump, and placing 7th in the Long Jump scored a team high of 12 points.

Isiah Williams, of TriCities High School placing 9th in the 400 meter dash, missed making the finials by .25 seconds. Williams ran 49.46. Tanner Riddle, of North Forsyth High School finished 8th in the High Jump with a jump of 6 feet 4 in, and his time of 14.85 was good enough for 13th in the class 6A 100 meter hurdles event. Ricky Waddell of North Atlata High School placed 5th in the 5A 300 meter hurdles with a time of 39.46. Running a time of 1:58.56, shattering his personal best by 2 seconds, Khalfani Green of Benjamin E. Mays High School placed 10th in the 5A 800 meter dash.

Congratulations to this athletes who competed with valiant effort and perseverance throughout the entire 2014 High School Track & Field season. The Quicksilver summer track season is picking up pace and we advise all High School students to communicate with respective QTC coaches regarding their practice schedules. The Area meet is on June 7th, and is a mandatory meet for all Quicksilver summer track participants. The Quicksilver Track Club summer schedule can be found: here. Schedule is subject to change, and any change will be communicated to all. Reminder that new and returning athletes are responsible for purchasing their competition uniform. Please visit  to make your purchase. The cut off dates for your uniform orders are May 5th and May 20th.

–          The May 5th date will ensure that your child will have their gear before the first meet on May 24, 25.

–          The May 20th date will ensure that your child will have their gear before the first USATF Meet on June 7th.
