Quicksilver Athletes continue to shine on the track! B. Matthews named ACC Freshman of the Year. Lauren Lewis, Jaxson Campbell, and Amara Onyeukwu kick off the season with strong performances. Langston Hughes standout Tre Williams sets a personal record, and fastest time in the state in the 300 meter hurdles!


Georgia Tech freshman, & ACC Most Outstanding Women’s Field Performer Bria Matthews capped off an already stellar season with All American finishes in both the long jump and the triple jump. To earn All-American status, an athlete has to place top 8th in their respective event at the Nationals meet. Matthews finish 7th in the long jump with a jump of 20 ft 11.75 in. She also placed 6th in the triple jump with a mark of 43 ft 2 1/4 in. Bria was one of the athletes to score points for Georgia Tech at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. UPDATE: Bria has also just been named ACC Freshman of the year for her efforts during the indoor track season. 

Our age 14 & under athletes are off to a good start in the Parks & Recreation season in just their second meet of the season. Leading the way were Lauren ‘Lolo’ Lewis, Amara Onyeukwu, and Jaxon Campbell. Lewis competed in both the 800 meters and the 1600 meters. She won the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.82 and the demolished the 1600 meters with a time of 5:30.40. Onyeukwu won both the 400 meter dash and 200 meter dash with times of 57.33 and 25.82 respectively. Both Amara & Lauren compete in the 13 & 14 age group. Jaxson Campbell won the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.70. Jaxson competes in the 9 & 10 age group. The meet was held at Pebblebrook High School on March 12th, 2016.
